FIREFIGHTER (PARAMEDIC) Barstow, California Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Interested applicants must follow the directions in the "How to Apply" section of this flyer to be considered. There may or may not be actual vacancies filled from this flyer. Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer. Duties You will respond as a member of an emergency response company and perform assigned tasks during ambulance/rescue responses. You will respond to on-site accidents and other emergencies involving injury and illness and may encounter situations that are life threatening. You will conduct a complete examination of the patient to determine the nature, extent, and seriousness of their condition and search for medical alert symbols. You will prioritize treatment for patients having multiple problems and employ a variety of established emergency medical/medicine techniques, methods, and equipment to intervene on the patient's behalf. You will report in a clear/concise manner, orally or in writing, what injuries were identifies and what care was administered at the scene or in transit. You will decontaminate vehicle and equipment as directed by protocols. You will participate and instruct classes on Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and other topic areas for Emergency Medical Technician. You will provide medical service, fight fires and protect property and the environment. You will perform thorough safety and maintenance inspections on emergency transport vehicles and inform management of any maintenance/repairs above
