About this role
Program Manager (General Manager - Irrigation and Utility Services) Multiple Locations Summary This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Western Region in Coolidge, Arizona; Phoenix, Arizona. The incumbent exercises delegated authority to carry out program functions and services that constitute the essential purpose of Irrigation and Utility projects in the Western Region. Duties As Program Manager (General Manager - Irrigation and Utility Services), GS-0340, your typical work assignments may include, but not limited to: Is responsible for management of the trust responsibility and natural resources development activities that contribute to the economic impact of the Irrigation and Utility projects. Lead and support programs to further efficiency and effectiveness of services provided to electric and water users under the projects. Oversee one of the specific projects - the San Carlos Irrigation Project - that delivers irrigation water to 100,000 acres of irrigated lands, half of which are Indian lands and the remaining half of being privately owned lands of non-Indians. Oversee the operation and maintenance of all project facilities including storage reservoirs, main canals, diversion works, irrigation wells, and electric power transmission and distributions system. Education There is no educational requirement, and there is no educational substitute for the specialized experience required for this position.
