Director, Office of Budget Washington, District of Columbia Summary The Department of the Interior is currently seeking qualified candidates for the Senior Executive Service (SES) position of Director, Office of Budget located in Washington, DC. The Department structures its SES positions into categories to determine the minimum pay for each position. This is a category 3 position. The minimum pay for this position is $197,200. Veterans preference does not apply to the SES. Duties The incumbent carries out the following specific responsibilities: 1. The Director, Office of Budget (Director), is responsible for budgetary analysis, recommendations, and implementation relating to Departmental objectives, programs, and financial plans. This includes related policy and legislative issues. In this role the incumbent advises senior Departmental officials on budgetary requirements, long and short-term analyses, application of the Administration's budgetary policies, and legislative matters that are included in the budget proposal or appropriations process. 2. The Director is the Department's liaison with OMB on all budgetary and appropriations matters, providing extensive staff support and timely, responsive follow-up. Is the Department's liaison with the appropriations committees, providing staff support and coordination with Departmental officials, bureaus and offices. On these matters, the incumbent may act with delegated authority for the Department. 3. The Director is responsible for oversight and direct management of the budget for the Departmental Management account and the Office of the Secretary components of the Department's Working Capital Fund.
