This National Guard position is for a TITLE 32 SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR (MI SMO - UTES), Position Description Number NGD1295000 and is part of the MI UTES, Michigan Army National Guard. MICHIGAN ARMY NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. Duties ***THIS IS A TITLE 32 NATIONAL GUARD POSITION THAT REQUIRES MILITARY MEMBERSHIP*** This position is located in the Joint Forces Headquarters-State, Logistics Directorate (J-4), Surface Maintenance Facility. The purpose of this position is to provide overall direction and coordination of subordinate work activities and functions. Work operations involve scope, volume, and complexity that they are carried out by subordinate supervisors in two or more separate organizational segments or groups, and are controlled through one or more levels of supervision. The occupation and non-supervisory grade level which best reflects the nature of the overall work operations supervised is Surface Maintenance Mechanic, WG-5801-10. Planning: Plans on a quarterly or longer basis, the overall use of subordinate personnel and resources under their control. Determines resource requirements, materials, the number of subordinates and the types of skill necessary to accomplish long-range work schedules. Work Direction: Assigns and explains work requirements and operating instructions to subordinate supervisors, sets deadlines, and establishes the sequence of work
