Recreation Assistant (Lifeguard) NF-02 Fort Drum, New York Summary This position is located at the Magrath Pool within the Magrath Sports Complex. Join our team at the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum. We are dedicated to enhancing the lives of Soldiers and their Families by providing essential support services, including child and youth programs and a variety of recreational activities that directly contribute to Soldier readiness and well-being. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will NOT be paid. Duties Serves as a lifeguard at indoor/outdoor pools, water parks, or beach fronts, working under the direction of an Aquatics Program Manager or supervisor. Ensures the safety of all guests by enforcing rules, rescuing swimmers in distress, and administering first aid as needed. Assists in conducting aquatic swimming and water survival training, and maintains personal readiness by attending regular safety training. Performs administrative duties such as staff scheduling, inventory tracking, ordering supplies, and maintaining daily operational logs and records. Helps maintain a clean and hazard-free facility, informs patrons about safety procedures, and assists with coaching swimming programs as required.
