About this role
Public Safety Dispatcher (Office Automation) White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Major Range Test Facility Base (MRTFB). to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serve as a Public Safety Telecommunicator for dispatching Fire, Emergency Medical Service (EMS), and Law Enforcement (LE) responders, monitoring alarms and activating Mass Notification Systems in Army Garrison Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) / 911 Centers. Duties Provide emergency services to the public by answering emergency 911 calls and responding with appropriate personnel and equipment. Monitor computerized fire and Joint Capabilities Integration Development System (ICIDS) alarm systems. Maintain an accurate status of all emergency response equipment and personnel to ensure prompt and accurate response. Operate Computer Aided Dispatching (CAD) system, telephones, radios, and station alerting systems. Provide initial Incident Command support until responding emergency units arrive on scene. Provide emergency medical dispatching assistance to callers with medical emergencies. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
