AIRCRAFT PROPELLER MECHANIC (TITLE 32) Morrisville, North Carolina Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT PROPELLER MECHANIC (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D0710000 and is part of the NC ASO, National Guard (AASF 1 / 4621-157). Duties As a AIRCRAFT PROPELLER MECHANIC (TITLE 32), WG-8810-10, you will test and troubleshoot aircraft rotor and/or propeller systems using special tools and test equipment; diagnose any malfunctions of rotor/propeller systems and make necessary repairs; repair and refinish blades/propellers using a variety of metal working tools and precision measuring instruments; perform troubleshooting of the powertrain systems using special tools and test equipment; diagnose any system malfunctions and make necessary repairs; subject rotor, propeller, and powertrain parts to a variety of nondestructive testing to identify imperfections not otherwise detected; operate magnetic, dye, or electronic equipment to identify or detect stress, cracks, or potential failures; refer findings to inspector for determination of serviceability; align and balance assembled propellers/rotor blades by making appropriate linkage adjustments and by making both chordwise and spanwise weight adjustments to bring blades into true balance; make final adjustments to balance, track, eliminate vibrations and ensure proper revolutions per minute (RPM) by checking blade track utilizing special tracking equipment and making weight, trim tab, and control linkage adjustments; perform operational checks of installed aircraft blades and associated sub-systems both inflight and during aircraft maintenance ground runs; may participate in aerial flights which are defined by applicable Army publications as Maintenance Test
