Driver Education Program Coordinator Kadena Air Base Okinawa, Japan Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Schilling Community Center on Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan. Duties Performs all the duties required for the execution of the Driver Education Program. Plans program schedules, develops classroom curriculum, marketing plan for classes and driver training principles. Responsible for all aspects of the program regarding schedules, administrative transactions and the administering of a variety of examinations for applicants applying for licenses in order to operate privately owned vehicles. Instructs applicants in procedures to accomplish test, monitors/grades test results and issues certificates. Checks all applicants' operation of vehicle which include: (I) Proper preliminaries to starting the vehicle, inspection of vehicle, handling, proper signaling, shifting, turning of corners, parking, backing, etc. Evaluates the results of the driving and written test and grants or denies the operator certificate on the basis of the results of the test. Signs operator certificate of those passing the test. Attends safety classes as a safety monitor for the driver's program. Evaluates unsafe practices reported by personnel, determining those that need to be given consideration on the basis as to whether reports influence driver safety matters. In addition, work involves various duties of differing and unrelated processes and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. Position of Trust.
