About this role

AIRCRAFT MECHANIC Tyndall AFB, Florida Summary This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain their active membership in the AF Reserve unit where assigned. ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month. Duties The primary purpose of this position is: to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) performing such duties as removing, installing, adjusting, aligning, inspecting, troubleshooting, and performing final functional and operational tests on a variety of major aircraft systems, their assemblies, and components such as airframe, landing gear, power plant, gear boxes, pumps, and hydraulic, pressurization, utility, fuel, oil, pneumatic, and flight control systems and to provide training to reservists in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein. DUTIES: DUTY 1: Performs inspection and troubleshooting on a variety of aircraft systems, their assemblies, and components in accordance with applicable technical orders/commercial manuals (C40 only) and specifications. Properly determines discrepancies and extent of adjustments and/or repairs required on aircraft systems such as airframe, landing gear, power plant, gear boxes, pumps, hydraulic, pressurization, utility, fuel, oil, pneumatic, and flight control systems.
