About this role
Investigative Specialist Multiple Locations Summary This position is located in one of the domestic field or resident offices within the Bureau of Diplomatic Security, Domestic Operations Directorate, Office of Field Office Management, (DS/DO/FLD). The office manages policies and processes for domestic field and resident offices across the United States. Its responsibilities include investigating passport and visa fraud, providing protective security to foreign dignitaries, and maintaining liaison with federal, state, and local law enforcement. Duties Research, obtain, and analyze classified and unclassified databases to follow trends of criminal violations related to passport and visa fraud, including fraudulent misconduct with potential nexus to human trafficking and national security threats. Search and link various databases information that determines criminal activities or methodologies to support criminal prosecutions. Conducts electronic record checks and evaluations of documents to identify potential leads, for investigative caseloads. Attend and contribute to criminal investigative briefings, presentations, and other platforms addressing investigative procedures, evidence collection processes, and related informational products. Input, track, and review analytical data trends that supports the nature, type, and mode of potential subjects' criminal behavior and activities. Education Education requirements do not apply to this vacancy announcement. Evaluation The evaluation process consists of the Monster Competency Based Assessments and a crediting plan for which applicants will be assigned a score between 70 and 100.
