About this role

Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist Leavenworth, Kansas Summary Corrections professionals who foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities. Duties Responsible for performing technical work in the field of diagnostic radiologic examinations and procedures. Providing modern imaging technology such as Diagnostic Ultrasound, conventional x-ray, and fluoroscopic exams. Administers complete radiologic procedures following physicians' orders and maintains equipment used in the Radiology Department. Performs general radiography which includes, but is not limited to: chest x-rays, colons, UGI's, EXU's, tomography, arthrograms, myelograms, ultrasound, and other contrast studies. Maintains current employee radiograph films and transfers these films to other BOP institutions upon notice of transfer. Attends conferences, medical department meetings, and continuing education classes on current radiology topics. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
