About this role

Supervisory Health Insurance Specialist Multiple Locations Summary This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIIO), Oversight Group (OG), Division of Plan & Issuer Enforcement (DPIE). As a Supervisory Health Insurance Specialist, GS-0107-14, you will serve as the confidential advisor to the Director and is responsible for managing, leading and coordinating the development and implementation of policies. Duties Lead and oversee the development, evaluation, and implementation of policies and program requirements related to state enforcement and issuer compliance with federal health insurance laws, including the Affordable Care Act and related statutes. Direct program operations and strategic initiatives to ensure effective compliance and enforcement activities, including analyzing policy impacts, identifying trends in non-compliance, and implementing process improvements. Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. Advise senior leadership on policy, compliance, and programmatic issues, including evaluating legislative and regulatory proposals and recommending improvements to enhance program effectiveness. Represent the division and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including federal and state agencies, health insurance issuers, and other partners, to support program implementation and resolve complex issues.
