Engineering Equipment Operator Richmond, Virginia Summary See below for important information regarding this job. Duties Operates one or more types of diesel or gasoline powered engineering and construction equipment with wheeled or crawler type traction required for general construction and maintenance activities. Operates such equipment as road grader, backhoe, front-end loader, road roller, bulldozer and large industrial tractors to excavate, backfill, grade or level earth to fine specification. Grades surfaces, compacts soil, or rolls to specifications on flat or rolling terrain. Performs such tasks as cutting grass, patching holes/cracks in pavements, digging ditches, spreading sand and gravel, removing tree limbs and fallen trees, picking up trash and debris, breaking up pavement, spray, spreading top soil and fertilizers. Possesses a valid Government drivers CDL license (Class A or B) for pickup trucks, 20-ton dump truck, rough terrain forklift, front-end loader, backhoe, and farm tractors with implements, lawn tractors, and other related road equipment.
