About this role

Hardware Automation Engineer III- Onsite South SF South San Francisco, CA, United States Overview The Hardware Automation Engineer III solves key workflow problems in large complex health systems. Supports a full technology stack of automated lab and software sequencing. Responsibility Own all aspects of the design process, prototyping, testing, and deployment for fully automated robotic platform. Design layout, process, and custom components for a modular robotics platform by utilizing mechanical, electrical, and software expertise. Work with other development teams to integrate processes into custom robotic platform. Drive process improvements to maximize the level of hands-free automation throughout the lab. Develop automation related documentation for effective operation and maintenance of automated equipment. Train and mentor junior Automation Engineers. Travel to Myriad locations as needed during certain project phases. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, biomedical engineering, or related field required. 5+ years of experience with electro-mechanical design, assembly, wiring, and troubleshooting. 2+ years of experience integrating 3rd party devices (system integration). Experience with mechanical CAD software (SolidWorks, OnShape). Experience documenting designs (BOMs, drawings) and working with contract manufacturers. Experience with text-based PLC programming or Python and terminal usage. Experience working cross-functionally with multiple groups on projects. For Bay Area candidates, compensation starts at $125,000 with a market-aligned midpoint of $153,000, plus RSUs and a generous performance-based bonus plan.
