Process Automation Engineer - Optical & Transceiver Products 2 Locations Meet the Team: Join the Cisco Process & Automation team in developing leading automation technology, this role works cross-functionally with process engineering, manufacturing, equipment, and quality teams to drive productivity, yield, and quality improvements through advanced automation technologies. Your Impact: Develop and implement automated process flows for optical module assembly, packaging, and testing. Evaluate, specify, and integrate automation equipment, robotics, and software controls into manufacturing operations. Collaborate with process engineers to translate manual processes into automated solutions. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automation systems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance. Conduct data analysis and process monitoring to identify opportunities for further automation and continuous improvement. Create and maintain documentation for automated processes, standard operating procedures, and training materials. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and industry standards in all automation activities. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or related field. Experience with manufacturing automation, robotics, or process control in high-tech environments (optics, semiconductors, photonics, or similar). Strong problem-solving skills with hands-on experience troubleshooting automation systems. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with optical module assembly, packaging, and testing processes is a plus. Familiarity with high-volume contract manufacturing environments Experience in optics or photonics manufacturing includes active alignment methods Proficiency in PLC programming, machine vision, motion control, and integration of automated equipment.
