About this role

Purpose Oversees Asia Control Room ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. The position supports the Director, Head of APAC Central Compliance and Head of BNS Asia Limited in delivering the Compliance program for the Global Banking and Markets and Treasury businesses in Asia Pacific. In addition, the role requires working collaboratively with Control Room colleagues (located in the US, Canada, Europe and APAC) to manage the day-to-day requirements of the global issuer programs administered by the Global Control Room. The issuer program includes managing the use and protection of sensitive, confidential and material non-public information, business conflicts of interests, research disclosures, and aggregation of securities. Through supporting from the APAC region, the incumbent contributes to the overall success of the Global Control Room team within the Scotiabank Global Compliance department by ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
