Senior Power System Engineer with Power Integrity Focus Lanham, Maryland, United States AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today's five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected. As an Electrical and Power System Engineer, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the development of our next generation of satellites which will be even larger, more powerful, and more advanced than their predecessors. You will be part of a cross-functional team of talented engineers that owns the full development and operations cycle of the satellite electrical and power systems. The responsibilities of the team span a wide range of activities from requirements specification and architecture development up to post launch data reviews and anomaly investigations. Duties and Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain unit- and subsystem-level technical requirements. - Lead trade studies, architecture development, and interface definition at the unit and subsystem level. - Support detailed design activities, including creation and review of schematics, layouts, drawings, and bills of materials. - Perform electrical and power analyses including power integrity (PI), transient analysis, worst-case circuit, derating, voltage drop, and grounding analyses. - Perform DC, AC, and transient power integrity analysis (IR drop, impedance targets, load steps, resonances).
