About this role
Mechanical Technician for CNC Barcelona, Spain AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today's five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected. Position Overview We are seeking a professional to independently operate a HAAS CNC milling machine (primary responsibility), perform CAM programming using Inventor CAM as required, and support machining, assembly, and workshop activities. The role requires a creative mindset, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with limited means. This is an on-site position on an afternoon shift, semi-flexible with availability to cover peak workload periods as needed. Key Responsibilities: • Independently operate a HAAS CNC milling machine (primary responsibility). • Perform CAM programming using Inventor CAM as required. • Machine prototypes and short production runs. • Carry out part modifications and repairs. • Design and develop workholding fixtures and tooling. • Support assembly operations across a variety of mechanical assemblies. Qualifications Education: Vocational training, technical certification, or equivalent practical experience in machining, manufacturing, or a related field. Experience: Experience operating CNC milling machines and performing machining operations in a workshop environment. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience working with HAAS CNC milling machines. • Experience using Inventor CAM for programming. • Experience machining prototypes
