About this role

HW Electronic Engineer Barcelona, Spain AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today's five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected. Position Overview We are seeking an Electronic Hardware Engineer to design, develop, validate and document onboard electronic systems for satellites, ensuring their reliability, performance and compliance with aerospace industry standards. Key Responsibilities: • Design schematics and PCBs for satellite electronic systems (power subsystems, communications, control, etc.) • Perform simulations, signal analysis, electrical and thermal integrity • Participate in component selection in accordance with space standards (ECSS, MIL-STD, etc.) • Collaborate in HW-SW system integration with other departments (software, systems, integration and testing) • Prepare technical documentation in compliance with aerospace standards • Support environmental test campaigns (EMC, vibration, thermal-vacuum, etc.) • Collaborate with suppliers for the manufacturing and assembly of electronic boards • Participate in design reviews (PDR, CDR) with clients or agencies (ESA, NASA, etc.) Qualifications Education : University degree in Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or similar Experience : A minimum of 8 years in electronic hardware design, preferably in high-reliability environments (aerospace, defense, automotive) Experience in multilayer PCB design, high-speed design, and environments with thermal or electromagnetic constraints Preferred Qualifications : •
