Electrical Software Test Engineer Lanham, Maryland, United States AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today's five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected. Position Overview We are seeking an Electrical Software Test Engineer to join our Software Validation and Testing Team. In this role, you will support component level and spacecraft level testing, working across multiple AST engineering divisions. You will collaborate closely with software developers and internal engineering teams to assist in the development, testing, and deployment of vehicle software using hardware in the loop (HIL) and software in the loop (SIL) testing techniques. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer passionate about electrical systems, testing, and spacecraft operations. Key Responsibilities - Execute tests on component level and spacecraft level platforms. - Document test results, including post processing data and generating test reports. - Support investigations of test failures, anomalies, and root cause analysis. - Assist in developing test plans, procedures, and documentation. - Serve as the onsite electrical engineering representative during testing activities. - Ensure safe and effective use of Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE). - Track project deliverables and support test team coordination. - Provide technical guidance and uphold industry best practices.
