Job Description: Moranbah North Mine has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial Finance Specialist to join the team on a permanent basis, based in Moranbah, QLD. The Commercial Finance Specialist will support operational leadership team members, by bringing an innovative financial lens to various operational decisions. Key areas will be financial analysis, reporting, governance, and controls as well as commercial input into operational continuous improvement. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this role will see you: Develop commercial insights to assist site leadership and operational teams in making better value accretive decisions for the operation. Provide business case modelling support for on-site SIB capital, make recommendations on capital expenditure decisions to the disciplines. Empower discipline managers with the necessary reporting tools to make informed decisions relating to asset reliability, asset life cycle management and total cost of ownership regarding equipment and assets under their control. Collaborate with discipline to develop risk register, proactively providing financial evaluation (cost/capital) of risk mitigation strategies. Facilitate in-depth discussion of deviations from plan, identifying and communicating operational root causes to financial performance. Performing cost assessments for variance reporting with key recommendations and improvements noted for both capital and operating costs.
