About this role
Purchasing Manager Work Location (Country) Mexico | Remote/Onsite Onsite We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead procurement activities supporting electric motor and gear manufacturing. This role ensures cost-effective, timely, and high-quality sourcing of materials, components, tooling, and services critical to production operations. What you will do: Source and manage materials such as copper windings, steel laminations, castings, bearings, magnets, electronics and related components Develop and execute sourcing strategies to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets Negotiate pricing, contracts, tooling, and capacity with suppliers Partner with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Planning teams Drive cost-reduction and supplier performance improvement initiatives Manage suppliers using quality, delivery, and cost metrics Utilize ERP/MRP systems and ensure policy and quality compliance Lead and develop purchasing staff, as applicable What we are looking for: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field 6+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment Strong negotiation and supplier management skills Experience with mechanical or electromechanical components ERP/MRP and Excel proficiency; ORACLE experience preferred Ability to travel up to 30%; Ability to travel within the US Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal APICS certification is a definite plus
