About this role
Indirect Tax Analyst Work Location (Country) India | Remote/Onsite Onsite The Indirect Tax Analyst will be responsible for Sales/Use tax return preparation and business license registrations for specific state and local tax authorities. The responsibility includes sales and use tax data management, tax compliance, account reconciliations, and tax audit support for Ametek and its related entities. Position Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following: Assist State and Local Corporate Tax with all facets of indirect tax primarily focused on sales and use tax Preparing and Filing Sales/Use Tax returns and other indirect filings as needed. Reconciliation of Sales and Use Tax Data files. Logging and tracking of state tax credits from one period to the next. Review and validate customer tax exemption documentation. Review State and Local Tax law changes to identify any potential impact to taxability. Support filing of business registrations and licenses. Documenting tax decisions in preparation for future tax audits. Working with vendor requests and business units for exemption certificate documentation. Understanding and effectively communicating business activities and procedures. Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting 2-5 years of indirect tax experience in public or corporate accounting Other Preferred Skills and Abilities: Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel Vertex preferred or other Sales and Use Tax filing software experience Power BI Alteryx (a plus)
