About this role
Tax Manager, Tax Controversy Bengaluru, Karnataka, IND Amazon is seeking an experienced tax lawyer to focus on India tax audit and dispute resolution issues. This is a strategic position, and the candidate will join a team in Amazon's tax group responsible for the management of audits across the world. In order to be successful: - The candidate must possess the ability to think strategically while also engaging in day-to-day tactical details; - The candidate must demonstrate an ability to identify and manage tax risks; - The candidate must have in-depth understanding of procedural and practical aspects of tax dispute resolution in India, and advise strategically in this respect; - The candidate must demonstrate a track-record of successful stakeholder management; and - The candidate must be able to communicate, written and verbal, complex tax concepts in ways that are meaningful and useful to non-tax professionals. In addition, this role will interact with other members of the Amazon tax, business and cross-functional teams, handling various tax controversy related issues. Key job responsibilities Responsibilities of this role will include: · Analyzing and advising on tax dispute resolution strategy and controversy risk mitigation. · Reviewing information and document requests, and tax submissions to assess and mitigate controversy risk. · Think long-term and 'big picture' in the management of tax controversy in India. · Working closely with Amazon tax teams and advising them on a wide variety of direct, indirect, and international tax issues from a tax controversy perspective. · As a key stakeholder in
