Software Development Engineer, Real Time Visual Intelligence Vancouver, British Columbia, CAN Join a fast-paced team building intelligence capabilities that will transform how customers interact with Alexa. As a Software Development Engineer II, you'll work on technology that enables natural, intuitive experiences across multiple device types. Key job responsibilities You are an autonomous software engineer who thrives in ambiguity and can make sound architectural decisions. You have strong skills in distributed systems and full-stack development are essential, along with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. You will: - Design and implement scalable systems for real-time processing and multimodal AI integration - Build core components of a horizontal capability that powers visual understanding across Amazon's device ecosystem - Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end customer experiences - Solve complex technical challenges in distributed systems, real-time processing, and API design A day in the life You'll work on high-impact projects that directly shape upcoming product launches. This role offers the opportunity to tackle Amazon's hardest technical problems while building technology that will fundamentally change how people interact with AI assistants. You'll collaborate with talented engineers, ML scientists, and product teams in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Basic Qualifications: - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - 3+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
