About this role

Senior Corporate Counsel, AWS Legal SGP We are seeking an experienced environmental attorney to be based in Singapore to support Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS provides cloud computing services and IT infrastructure to public and private clients around the globe, including on-demand compute capacity, data storage, content delivery, browsers, and more. The successful candidate will join the AWS Legal Regulatory Risk Management & Compliance team focusing on environmental compliance and sustainable design of AWS's global physical infrastructure. You will be part of a team that counsels Amazon's data center business and compliance teams on a range of environmental, regulatory, and infrastructure development matters across Asia Pacific. Principal duties include strategizing regional compliance efforts, providing tactical advice on compliance issues, monitoring and advising the business of upcoming environmental regulatory changes, developing and improving compliance policies and programs, working cross-functionally with other data center teams to develop new infrastructure, negotiating commercial transactions with environmental vendors, and handling legal disputes and inquiries from regulators. This role will give the successful candidate an opportunity to join a collaborative, tight-knit team that is leading exciting and pioneering global initiatives as part of a business that is making history. Some travel, domestic and international, will be required. The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, pragmatic, enjoy working hard and being challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations.
