About this role
Regional Environmental Engineer, Air Compliance, AWS Environmental Herndon, Virginia, USA Join a diverse, dynamic, and enthusiastic team of environmental compliance professionals who play a leading role in air quality permitting and compliance at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where we have a history of leading the world in innovative technologies and services. As a member of the Air Permitting team, you will support environmental programs aimed at ensuring compliance with air quality regulations and standards in the Americas while also enabling AWS's growth around the world. As an Air Compliance Regional Environmental Engineer (REE), your primary focus will be serving as the air quality compliance subject matter expert (SME) across the Americas region, providing programmatic oversight and ensuring alignment of compliance practices across all AWS data centers. You will work closely with other REEs, operations teams, environmental consultants, and regulatory agencies to ensure consistent application of air quality compliance programs, particularly those related to tier 4 compliant diesel generators. You'll be responsible for developing and maintaining compliance systems and best practices that support AWS growth in the Americas, collaborating with partner teams throughout the data center operational lifecycle. Your role will involve providing technical expertise on local, state, and federal air regulations, establishing standardized audit protocols, developing emissions testing programs, and creating strategies for continuous improvement in air quality management.
