About this role
Japan Tax Manager, AsiaPacific Japan Tax Tokyo, JPN Amazon is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our Asia Pacific Japan Tax Team based in Tokyo. Japan is Amazon's second largest marketplace outside the United States. This role will primarily focus on supporting Amazon's Consumer business in the APAC region, with a primary focus on Japan (>90%). The candidate will primarily focus on corporate tax matters, consumption tax matters, withholding tax, indirect tax and transfer pricing matters. Key job responsibilities • Monitor and analyze legislative developments working with internal stakeholders and outside advisors. • Be part of the Tax team representing Amazon Japan in front of the NTA, the TRTB and business organizations such as Keidanren. • Collaboration with cross functional teams to ensure tax considerations are incorporated into new business decisions, expansion into new markets, new product offerings or restructuring of operations, providing practical solutions that align to company's strategy and vision. • Provide strategic tax advice on international corporate income tax issues across projects and new business initiatives. • Providing guidance on international tax implications of cross-border and local transactions. • Conduct in-depth technical analysis, decision-making, and problem-solving on complex tax matters. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business, legal, accounting, and finance. • Investigate and respond to internal and external information requests.
