About this role

Hardware Dev Engineer , Velocity Westboro, Wisconsin, USA As a Hardware Development Engineer within the (RDPI) team, you will design, develop, and deliver mechanical components and systems for Amazon's next generation of products. You will work with cross-functional teams to transform concepts into manufacturable designs that meet customer needs and business requirements. Key job responsibilities - Deliver mechanical design projects from concept through production, ensuring designs meet functional requirements, cost targets, and manufacturing constraints - Create 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and specifications for mechanical components and assemblies - Conduct engineering analyses including tolerance stack-ups, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) - Develop and execute test plans to validate mechanical designs against product requirements - Collaborate with industrial designers, electrical engineers, and manufacturing partners to integrate mechanical designs with other subsystems. - Identify and resolve technical issues during development and production phases - Document design decisions, test results, and engineering changes - Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) activities Basic Qualifications: - 4+ years of hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systems experience - Bachelor's degree in robotics, mechanical/mechatronics engineering, systems engineering or related field Preferred Qualifications: - Knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD experience and understanding of best practices for part design, and advanced assemblies - Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment from prototyping to implementation Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or
