About this role
Ground Terminal Tech Operations Engineer, Amazon Leo Ground Systems Sydney, New South Wales, AUS Amazon Leo is launching a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Have you ever wanted to become involved in the global rollout of satellite earth stations for a high-performance satellite constellation? We are looking for a Satellite Communications Ground Engineer to join Amazon Leo's ground gateway operations team. You will lead efforts to ensure high performance ground gateways are able to continuously serve our broadband customers by assessing and improving terminal performance, and investigating faults and anomalies, including on-site at our gateway terminals when required. You will collaborate with other subject matter experts to develop the tools and procedures necessary to support this global endeavor. Key job responsibilities - Assess the health and performance of globally distributed ground terminals - Address and remediate antenna faults, alarms, and anomalies - Maintain and/or update antenna calibrations as necessary - Perform software updates/upgrades of antenna components - Design system test and verification processes and document at-scale mechanisms - Manage tactical interactions with partners to ensure milestones, deliverables, and technical artifacts are technically compliant with project objectives and programmatic requirements - Work with stakeholder teams to maintain operational terminals in sync with organizational goals - Develop team training plans and materials - Communicate regularly with senior management on status, risks and change control A day in the life As a Gateway Terminal Ops Engineer, you
