About this role
Corporate Counsel, NA Stores Legal New York, New York, USA Amazon is looking for an exceptional attorney to support the growing North American Seller Business & Programs Team. Key job responsibilities - Provide day-to-day legal support to business teams and develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, efficient, and business-centric ways - Help business teams launch new programs, products and features for sellers - Serve as lead counsel in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements - Resolve issues arising in existing commercial relationships, and handle pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries Basic Qualifications: - 5+ years of post bar admission legal experience - Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent Preferred Qualifications: - Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work - Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities - Common sense and a good sense of humor - Ability to work independently and demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations - Team player and consensus builder who can effectively and efficiently collaborate and build relationships with attorneys and business clients at all levels throughout the organization - Business acumen combined with ability to identify optimal solutions, including novel, creative and innovative solutions to complex issues - Thinks strategically, but stays on top of tactical execution, responding openly and flexibly to change Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
