About this role
Corporate Counsel, Japan Devices Legal Tokyo, JPN Amazon's Japan Legal team is looking for a smart, motivated attorney to join our team. This position, based in Tokyo, will support the Devices & Services business, including Echo, Fire TV, Fire Tablet, Kindle E-Reader, Amazon Kids and other strategic products. You will serve as the primary attorney responsible for new product launches, marketing initiatives and regulatory compliance issues. You will provide day-to-day legal counseling on a broad range of commercial and regulatory matters, structure, draft and negotiate agreements and resolve pre-litigation disputes and inquiries. You will be an integral part of the business and will need to be comfortable providing counsel directly to senior leadership both on legal and business issues. You will also work closely with US and other international legal and business teams worldwide. The successful candidate must be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. The successful candidate will be client-service oriented, and be able to think big while also paying great attention to detail on tight deadlines. The successful candidate will also be able to prioritize appropriately and easily switch gears without sacrificing quality of work, maintain a high level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information, and have the ability to work well with people at all levels.
