About this role

ATS Sr Process/Automation Engineer, Emerging Countries Engineering Mexico City, Mexico City, MEX Amazon Transportation Services is looking to hire an experienced, innovative, hands-on and customer-obsessed Sr Automation Engineer that can drive expansion in our Middle Mile. As a member of the Emerging Countries Engineering team you will be responsible for designing complex material handling equipment solutions including sorters, vision guided systems and support infrastructure. You will be the single threaded leader of equipment implementation in multiple facilities, owning all steps from planning to implementation. This position requires a background in material handling equipment (preferably in logistics), strong leadership, deep customer focus, strong autonomy and exceptional project management skills. It will involve regular communication with executors and project sponsors at both the country and worldwide level, and requires you to be detail-oriented and comfortable partnering across functional business and technical teams. To be successful in this role, you need to pair strong analytical skills and a data-driven outlook with strong intuition. This role will be based out of Mexico and involves regular travel within the country as well as occasional international travel. Key job responsibilities Lead Automation initiatives (autosorters) Support business case, design and deployment for automation Support the preparation of specifications and technical detail to fully define the requirements on building environment, equipment, material, process and services; Review all technical documentation such as Buildings layouts, traffic plans, flow diagrams, conveyor and equipment layouts, installation details, schedules and budgets to ensure that they meet requirements; Active involvement in cross functional infrastructure
