The largest driver of home emissions is burning fossil fuels for heat. To stop climate change, over 80M US homes need to transition from combustion to efficient, electric heat pumps over the coming decades. We believe for this to happen the world needs fantastic products that are easy to purchase. Today's heat pumps lack great design, make limited use of software, and are difficult and stressful to adopt. We are building a next generation, beautifully designed, AI optimized home heating and cooling system that is 10x better than what is on the market today. The Problem AI agents can generate code 100x faster than humans. But at Quilt, generating code was never the bottleneck, verifying it is. We build software that runs on physical hardware in people's homes. A bug isn't a broken pixel; it's a family without heat. Our code spans embedded C++ on custom devices, cloud infrastructure, and mobile apps. Right now, too much of our verification depends on a human walking to a test bench and pressing a button. As a key member of the team, you will bring your design skills to the table to support the Textile team by bringing high quality home textiles to market. Position Summary As the Designer for Utility Textiles, you will support design for textiles across the home. Categories include rugs, bedding, throw pillows, blankets, quilts, bath textiles, outdoor textiles, drapery, and more. In this role, you will be a key designer on the design team from concept to launch. Our Designer for Textiles will help inspire, innovate, and translate seasonal concepts and market trends into design solutions that meet business needs. Specific Responsibilities Partner with our Senior Designer for Textiles to develop a cohesive look and feel for bedrooms and living rooms each quarter, aligning with the brand's quarterly concepts. We also own DJS. We eliminate builder toil so engineers can focus on solving customer and business problems without worrying about their deployments, safety, hosts management, or capacity scaling. We own the end-to-end deployment and host runtime experience, providing safe and scalable solutions for both human developers and automated systems. Our products create a low- friction path from post-build artifacts to reliable and safe production deployments. We design for Amazon-scale while ensuring our tools are easy to use correctly and safe for automated agents to invoke. You will join a diverse team of software engineers working to improve builder velocity, reduce operational risk, scale automation safely, and maximize the value of existing tooling investments.
