The Waymo Driver powers Waymo's fully autonomous ride-hail service and can also be applied to a range of vehicle platforms and product use cases. The Waymo Driver has provided over ten million rider-only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving over 100 million miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 15+ U.S. states. You will: - Design, develop, test, and deploy new features for SQL-based query APIs and systems to analyze and generate metrics for Waymo Driver evaluations. - Analyze and improve the performance and scalability of the query execution engine. - Write well-structured, testable, and maintainable code in C++ and SQL languages, adhering to best practices in software engineering. - Monitor system health and performance, proactively addressing issues. - Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and engineers across Waymo to understand data needs in Simulation, Planner, Behavior, Perception, and Commercialization to define requirements and ensure solutions meet analysis needs. You have: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. - 3+ years of professional backend software engineering experience. - Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
