The Waymo Driver powers Waymo's fully autonomous ride-hail service and can also be applied to a range of vehicle platforms and product use cases. The Waymo Driver has provided over ten million rider-only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving over 100 million miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 15+ U.S. states. You will: - Develop and maintain a data processing platform used by onboard and offboard teams to extract signals from petabytes of driving logs and simulation traces. - Design and build low-latency streaming data processing platform, enabling real-time identification of critical driving events. - Improve the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of our signal generation infrastructure, establishing SLOs and reducing operational toil for massive-scale data processing jobs. - Collaborate with cross-functional partners in Perception, Planner, and Data Science to migrate legacy pipelines to modern infrastructure and support new analytical use cases. You have: - BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent - 5+ years of professional experience in backend engineering, databases, and production monitoring (3+ years for L4, and relevant internship for L3) - Experience in leading projects and driving
