We're looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing Accounting team. This role is highly focused on payroll accounting, including related accruals, benefits allocation, reconciliations, and fluctuation (flux) analysis. This role requires strong analytical skills with a keen sense of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to research and resolve discrepancies independently. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys partnering cross-functionally with HR, Payroll, and FP&A to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. SaaS industry experience is a plus, particularly in high-growth environments. What you'll do as a Senior Accountant at Vanta: - Prepare and review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations for payroll and benefits-related accounts - Partner closely with Payroll and HR to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of payroll data - Review payroll reports against the GL and investigate discrepancies or unusual fluctuations using data-driven and AI-assisted approaches - Prepare and review benefits reconciliations, identifying and resolving variances across across multiple systems - Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes related to payroll and benefits - Perform detailed flux and variance analysis on payroll and compensation-related
