Role Overview Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations, one of the world's largest producers of zinc concentrate, is recruiting for a Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice. Due to anticipated needs, we are currently recruiting for a career oriented individual to fill this role Schedule will be 2 weeks on-site, 2 weeks off-site Reporting to the HE Shop Supervisor Key Responsibilities • Establish basic understanding of Mechanical components for fleet mobile heavy equipment such as haulage trucks, dozers, loaders and graders. • Assist the HE Shop Supervisor or other Journeyperson(s) become familiar with Industrial Mechanics to include assembling, installing, repairing and the dismantlement of mobile heavy equipment • Learn various processes of heavy machinery components such as engine, transmission, cooling system, fuel and exhaust systems • Assist with mechanical preventative maintenance on flee
