Apprentice, Instrument Mechanic Trail Employment Type: Workplace Type: About Trail Operations Teck's Trail Operations, located in the community of Trail in British Columbia, is one of the world's largest fully integrated zinc and lead smelting and refining complexes. Located in the beautiful West Kootenay region of southeastern, British Columbia, Trail offers outdoor adventure at your fingertips. Role Overview Reporting to a Group Leader, we are looking for an Instrument Mechanic Apprentice who is eager to learn and develop their skillset. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a journeyman who will instruct you, and give you tasks to complete each day that center around your development needs. This will include inspecting, maintaining, repairing of industrial equipment. Key Responsibilities Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures Install, calibrate, repair and maintain field instrumentation and final control elements Perform in a team-oriented environment of maintenance peers Qualifications Completion of Grade 12 (please submit a copy of certificate to application) Pre-apprentice as Instrument Mechanic is required at a minimum Knowledge of Foxboro and ABB Systems would be considered an asset Knowledge of Modicon PLC's and Wonderware HMI's considered an asset WHIMIS certification Experience in an industrial environment Valid driver's license Knowledge of and ability to safely us basic hand tools Strong interpersonal and communication skills
