Staff Mechanical Engineer Austin, TX, Austin, Texas, United States T1 Energy is bringing solar manufacturing back to the U.S. by building a domestic solar supply chain. Our mission is to invigorate America with scalable, reliable, and low-cost energy. Our fully operational 5GW solar module facility in Wilmer, Texas, can manufacture more than 20,000 modules every 24 hours. The Role T1 Energy is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to oversee the design, coordination, and delivery of mechanical utility systems for our advanced manufacturing facility. This role will focus on systems such as chilled water, steam, compressed air, dehumidification, and waste handling, ensuring reliable service and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in mechanical utilities with a proved track record of leading complex projects from design through commissioning. What You''ll Do - Lead the planning, design and coordination of mechanical utilities, including CUP (central utility plant), cleanroom, HVAC, chilled water, compressed air, dehumidifiers, and waste handling. - Serve as the owner's representative with design firms, contractors, and equipment vendors. - Support project execution through design reviews, schedule and scope management, and coordination of utilities interfaces. - Provide oversight during construction, startup and commissioning to ensure systems perform as intended. - Troubleshoot and optimize mechanical utilities to improve
