About this role
Propulsion Test Engineer - DAQ and Instrumentation Mojave, CA Stratolaunch is a technology accelerator that engineers operationally realistic testing at Mach 5+. Our air-launched, Talon testbeds are reusable, cost-effective platforms that enable routine access to the hypersonic environment. We deliver flight data critical to validating system performance and achieving rapid technology deployment. Together with our customers, we drive innovations that are imperative to advancing national security. To help achieve these efforts, Stratolaunch is seeking a level I, level II, or Sr-level Avionics Engineer to support design, integration, test, and maintenance of software and avionics systems for the propulsion test stands for high-speed, air-launched aircraft. You will be mentored by and learn from a subject matter expert. An ideal candidate will have an aerospace development background and relevant experience in aerospace systems. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES - Architect, design, analyze, integrate, and test avionics and electrical systems - Maintain configuration control over major avionics system elements including wiring diagrams, 3D CAD, work orders, etc. - Coordinate with other subsystem leads to develop requirements, test plans, and procedures - Coordinate with engineers across a broad spectrum of disciplines to understand requirements and engineer technical solutions - Perform analysis to gauge system design adequacy and performance to meet program requirements - Create presentations and support design reviews throughout vehicle development - Support ground and/or flight test, as required - Evaluate risks and risk mitigation plans to determine if the risks and mitigations are appropriate - Regular and comprehensive communication to the Avionics Lead on a
