About this role

IT Network Engineer, Launch Starbase, TX SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars. IT NETWORK ENGINEER, LAUNCH SpaceX is looking for an exceptional engineer with experience in networking technologies in mission critical environments and/or large-scale production facilities. This employee will be a member of the IT Launch engineering team, which is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the networks used for the manufacturing, testing, and launching of Starship & Super Heavy spacecraft. The engineer in this position will be hands-on with network hardware and be directly responsible for the IT systems used by launch/production operations, automation & controls engineering, facilities, and other partner teams essential for our missions. Additionally this employee will present in launch & test readiness reviews and sit as a responsible engineer during test/launch operations. The ideal candidate will be a great communicator, be able to triage work in a ticketing system, excel at multi-tasking, investigate issues to publish root cause analysis of failures, and enjoy a fast-paced high-tech environment. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Design and implement highly available mission critical networks. - Procure, configure, and install IT hardware including servers, switches, UPS, PDU, and environmental monitoring - Troubleshoot and resolve network related issues, publishing root cause analysis (RCA) documentation and hosting post-mortem data reviews - Plan and coordinate
