About this role
Mechanical Engineer Sausalito The Job: We are seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and integration of hardware systems for autonomous aerial suppression. You'll work cross-functionally with software engineers and other team members to deliver robust and reliable hardware solutions for firefighters. What You Bring: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 5-8+ years of professional experience in mechanical design and product development Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and tolerance analysis Hands-on experience with prototyping and common fabrication techniques (e.g., machining, 3D printing) Knowledge of various manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, casting, CNC machining). Excellent problem-solving and communication skills Proven ability to define product vision and technical direction, driving projects from concept to deployment Strong leadership skills with a track record of aligning cross-functional teams around a common goal and delivering impactful results Preferred (but not required): Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related field Proven experience in mechanism design, kinematic analysis, and/or advanced simulation tools (FEA, CFD, Thermal) Strong interest in or experience with robotics, automation, or complex mechatronic systems Experience in aviation, aerospace, or UAV industries Familiarity with regulatory and environmental testing standards What We Offer: Competitive Salary - Reflective of your skills and experience Equity Compensation - Be a part-owner in the company's future Comprehensive Health Coverage - Including medical, dental, and vision plans Health Savings Account (HSA) - Optional pre-tax savings
