Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Controls Systems Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated control systems across our operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams - including mechanical, electrical, and software engineering - to deliver reliable, high-performance control solutions that meet safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities - Design, program, and commission PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems for industrial processes and machinery - Develop and maintain control system architecture, including hardware selection, software logic, and HMI development - Perform system modeling, simulation, and analysis to optimize control strategies (PID tuning, feedforward, etc.) - Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for new and modified systems - Troubleshoot and resolve control system faults, minimizing downtime and production impact - Create and maintain technical documentation including control narratives, cause-and-effect matrices, loop diagrams, and I/O lists - Collaborate with process engineers to translate process requirements into control system specifications - Ensure all systems comply with applicable safety standards (IEC 61511, IEC 62443, NFPA 79, etc.) - Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance staff - Participate in hazard reviews (HAZOP, SIL assessments) and implement safety instrumented functions (SIF) Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field - 3+ years of experience in controls systems
