Database Engineer (ClickHouse) London Qube Research & Technologies (QRT) is a global quantitative and systematic investment manager, operating in all liquid asset classes across the world. You will join the Infrastructure Database team responsible for managing and optimising large-scale database systems supporting research and trading activities. The team works closely with Quantitative Researchers, Developers, and Data Engineers to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of critical data infrastructure. Your Future Role within QRT You will: - Administer and maintain ClickHouse clusters in distributed environments - Configure and manage replication, sharding, and distributed table architectures - Operate and maintain ClickHouse Keeper or ZooKeeper - Manage data lifecycle processes including partitioning, TTL, and merge operations - Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues in high-throughput environments - Optimise query performance through indexing strategies, partitioning, and projections - Manage system resources including CPU, memory, and disk I/O for database workloads - Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions - Support database environments across production and non-production setups - Implement and maintain access control, roles, and security policies - Work with data ingestion pipelines including streaming and batch frameworks - Contribute to database reliability, observability, and scalability improvements Your Present Skillset - 5+ years of
