About this role
Plumber (Open until filled) Washington, District of Columbia Summary This position is part of The Donald J. Trump and John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts (the Center). The incumbent will be responsible for performing plumbing, pipefitting and other duties on complex plumbing systems. Duties Works on all the Center sewage, water, gas, and fire suppression systems. Also disassembles, installs, modifies, repairs, and maintains a wide variety of new and existing piping systems and equipment. Installs, modifies, and repairs systems by locating and tapping main lines, setting up system routes, placing and cutting route openings, placing hangers for proper level and slope. Installs and repairs valves, traps and unions needed for proper operation of various systems. Lays out, installs and insulates domestic water and waste lines completing proper routing, placement, slant, slope and jointing, sealing and testing for proper pressures, leak-free joints and operation. Cuts, bends and threads pipe necessary to hook-up air, gas and water lines. Opens clogged drains and sewer lines, and repairs faucets. Operates soldering equipment to join copper pipe of varying sizes. Requirements US Citizenship is required. Suitable for Federal employment, determined by background investigation. Direct Deposit of pay is required. Selective Service registration required for male applicants, unless exempt. Must be back flow certified at time of appointment and must be maintained while in the position and must provide a valid copy of back flow certification at time of application or prior to the entrance-on-duty date.
