About this role
General Attorney (Labor) (Attorney) Washington, District of Columbia Summary This position is located in the Division of Advice, which includes the Regional Advice and Injunction Litigation Branches. The Regional Advice Branch provides legal guidance to Regional Offices on complex or novel unfair labor practice cases, cases involving new policy creation, or other cases requiring General Counsel attention. The Injunction Litigation Branch oversees initiating and litigating temporary injunction proceedings under Sections 10(j) and 10(l) of the NLRA. Duties As a General Attorney (Labor) (Attorney), GS-0905-11, your typical work assignments may include: Reviewing the Regional Offices investigative files. Attending meetings with Advice managers to orally present the pertinent facts and legal issues of the case and to recommend appropriate courses of action. Conducting special research and analytical projects relating to recommending on disposition of cases pending on appeal. Drafting memoranda and other documents on behalf of the Organization's Leadership setting forth the decisions of managers and /or Agency Leadership and memoranda to the Board requesting authorization to seek 10(j) injunctions. Performing other duties as assigned. Education This position has a basic education requirement listed under the Qualifications section of this announcement. You must meet all qualification requirements. All academic degrees and coursework must be completed at a college or university that has obtained accreditation or pre-accreditation status from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
