Director of Field Operations Chicago, IL Role: Director of Field Operations, Self-Perform Services Location: CLM Midwest home market (travel required) Salary: $155,000-$170,000 + 8-12% performance bonus Overview We are looking for a results-driven Director of Field Operations to lead Leo's self-perform technician workforce. This role is the single point of accountability for approximately 70 W2 general maintenance technicians, a technician manager, a 5-person dispatch team, and a landscaping operation serving commercial retail customers across CLM Midwest's footprint. The ideal candidate has led large W2 field workforces, understands the economics of a truck roll, and knows what it takes to keep technicians productive, safe, and retained in a tight labor market. You will manage the self-perform cost center budget and drive technician efficiency. Reports into R&M; leadership. What You'll Do • Manage the self-perform cost center budget: labor cost per work order, technician utilization, overtime management, and cost-per-completion targets • Drive technician efficiency as the primary operating focus: first-time fix rates, on-time arrival, work orders per tech per day, and completion velocity • Manage dispatch operations to optimize routing, reduce windshield time, and maximize daily work order throughput per technician • Recruit, onboard, develop, and retain a workforce of 70+ general maintenance technicians across multiple geographies • Build a technician career ladder with clear skill gates and compensation progression • Lead the dispatch manager and 4 dispatchers to ensure real-time work order assignment, emergency response coverage, and SLA compliance • Oversee landscaping operations including seasonal planning, crew scheduling, and quality standards
