About this role

Senior Accountant Erembodegem At OneSpan , we specialize in digital identity and anti-fraud solutions that create exceptional and secure experiences. OneSpan is currently looking for a Sr. Accountant to join its Accounting team in Brussels. You will focus on month-end close and account reconciliations for higher risk processes and accounts, as well as play a key role in VAT filing and compliance, local statutory audits and compliance (Austria, Belgium, Netherlands and UK), and US reporting. You will be responsible for a timely close process, while maintaining a strong internal control environment, in compliance with SOX and other internal audit requirements. Additionally, you will perform research on various accounting issues as they arise, assist with coordination and preparation of support for audits. Job Duties and Responsibilities - Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations, ensuring proper documentation is maintained (in compliance with SOX requirements), as well as monitoring and resolving reconciling items on a timely basis - Resolve accounting discrepancies and identify and investigate irregularities - Ensure all reports utilized in accounting functions are complete and accurate - Review and approval of supplier invoices and expense reports for proper accounting coding - Prepare financial variance analysis reports; ensure accurate and timely reporting of monthly, quarterly and year-end close, for both individual entities and on a consolidated basis - Interact with external auditors in managing several statutory audits - Monthly preparation of several VAT declarations - Assist in the preparation of tax returns - Participate in continuous process improvement projects Requirements - Bachelor's
