About this role
Concept Modeler Seattle, WA As a concept molder, you will take ideas from wave-of-the-hands discussions or rough sketches into a 3D model of "close" to reality. You want to work within a team of world class designers, helping them translate their visions into possibilities. Building 3D models for render or physical prototypes (3D printed, CNC, etc.) is your way of helping. You get to use whatever software works to get the job done quickly and/or precisely, depending on the reason for the job. Also, being capable in multiple CAD software and build techniques (NURBS, Sub-D, facets) let you teach designers and the organization how to use these tools to improve processes and projects. You have a decent sense of manufacturing requirements, but more importantly a developed sense of design/aesthetics/flow in art, or photography, or automobiles, or boats, airplanes, etc. You love to build stuff, be it tinkering projects, or house renovations, or bicycles, or musical instruments, or cars, etc. You can “see” shapes in your head: imagine them, spin them, and express those shapes in CAD or words or clay, etc. You are able to be the paintbrush of the artist, the chisel of the sculptor - intuiting and expressing what they want. You are very capable of managing your time, energy, and kindness within ever-changing and often challenging work schedules. Responsibilities: - Support the development of category-defining products, helping Meta change the world through design - Help define and refine the visual and physical language of our brand through
